Candidate Profile

FOS positions brands like AB InBev, DraftKings, Hyperice, RBC, Samsung, and Bose to our audience of influential business leaders across sports, entertainment, fitness, finance, real estate, media, tech, and other sports-adjacent industries. 

We are looking for a seasoned media sales leader to help position the FOS brand to advertisers and agencies with excitement and drive growth at a pivotal time in the company’s lifecycle. FOS is a fast-paced, high-growth organization and the ideal candidate should have experience developing a roster of both B2B and B2C brand partners.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Represent the Front Office Sports and Sports Section brands in the advertising marketplace
  • Responsible for driving revenue by selling integrated packages to advertisers
  • Prospect, cultivate, develop and maintain relationships with high-level advertising decision-makers at brands and agencies
  • Optimize the FOS sales and client success strategy from post-sales kick off through execution and campaign recaps
  • Develop an organized process for inventory management and forecasting
  • Maintain accurate and timely business estimates, forecasts, and administrative paperwork for leadership
  • Build custom partnership proposals and presentations for potential brand clients
  • Oversee the process for and coach the wider FOS partnerships team as they build custom partnership proposals

Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years of digital media sales experience and a proven track record of meeting or over exceeding sales goals
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about digital media, brand marketing, and strategic partnerships
  • Strong personal relationships with key brand and agency stakeholders
  • A strong understanding of media sales packaging and selling digital sponsorships
  • Previous success driving RFPs and winning new business
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience selling native newsletter advertising products is a plus

About the Team

FOS is a mass-market daily sports newsletter network of six newsletter brands. We have an office in New York but our employee body is fully remote, spanning five time zones. We are organized into five departments: Editorial, Sales, Partnership Marketing, Growth/Product, and Operations. To learn more about who we are, visit the Teams page of this website.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an experienced writer to help produce stories for the Front Office Sports AM + PM newsletters. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in sports business or finance-related news judgment, editorial research, cross-platform content creation, and have an overall understanding of the sports business landscape. If you are analytical and forward-thinking in understanding the news of the business of sports, you could be a great fit!

Role & Responsibilities

  • Produce 2-4 stories daily for the Front Office Sports newsletters 
  • Ideate, research, and write around key business metrics, trends, or other unique angles in a concise manner native to the newsletter format
  • Ideate editorial franchises or concepts which can be referred to as weekly or daily sections in the newsletter 
  • Engage on social media to promote your work, the work of colleagues, and the broader FOS brand.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years of writing experience in business media or journalism OR 3+ years experience as a financial analyst with strong writing skills
  • Strong business and finance acumen
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task and collaborate
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and engagement strategies
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and desire to help continue to build something new and fresh
  • Ability to carry over existing relationships with sources at teams, leagues, agencies, athletes, and other sports figures
